Total Commander Freeware.VCE TEMP 0.Jordy Nelson: A 55% Chance of Playing in 2017 The Packers wide receiver has been battling back from a knee injury suffered in Week 17 of the 2016 season, but his presence may be needed more than ever if Davante Adams can't go in the season opener against the Bears on Sept. 10. After being sidelined since the final week of the regular season, Nelson had what coach Mike McCarthy described as a good day of practice on Monday and now has a 55 percent chance of playing next Sunday against the Chicago Bears. "He's had a good day. He's good," McCarthy said. "And we'll take that day-by-day and we'll follow the treatment plan and we'll go from there." If Nelson doesn't play next Sunday, it will be the first game that he's missed in his Packers career. The only other time he was inactive was in the 2012 season opener against the Cardinals. He's one of those guys that goes out every day and makes sure you get your work done. He brings that energy. He's been able to bring that in to our offense and our locker room. It's nice to have a guy that brings that." The Packers signed Nelson to a three-year extension worth $45 million in the offseason. But with Nelson likely going into his age-31 season in 2017, his arrival in the starting lineup at the right time could be important in the Packers' playoff push. "It's really important," Adams said. "I'm really appreciative for what he does for us. I feel like he's a big part of what we do offensively. But most importantly, he makes us better. He makes us a lot of people better and I love playing with him." Before Nelson's injury, it was believed that he was
